When billing for a prescription in an existing claim, the pharmacist should transmit
at least two of the following three items, along with the other billing information,
to the Pharmacy Benefits
Manager (PBM):
BWC claim number;
Social Security number;
Date of injury.
The PBM will verify the information, process the bill and send the pharmacist an
appropriate message based on the claim’s status and allowed conditions.
