BWC Board of Directors to Hold Public Forum on Claims Issues

COLUMBUS – The BWC Board of Directors will host another forum, this one targeting BWC’s claims- management system. The public forum will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 29. The board will hold the event in the William Green Building’s auditorium, located at 30 W. Spring St., Columbus.

Participants can provide their insights into enhancing BWC’s claims-management system. The discussion will center on shifting the model from disability management to disability prevention. Goals for discussion include:

  • Determining efficient methods for identifying workers at risk for long-term disability;
  • Identifying appropriate incentives for the delivery of occupational health best practice care sufficient to prevent disability;
  • Identifying opportunities for the synthesis of claims-management and medical-management processes to improve outcomes;
  • Providing for measurement of the disability prevention achieved to allow for a continuous improvement process.

If you intend to address the board, register by completing a short form located on ohiobwc.com by Thursday, April 23. You may also register on-site the day of the forum.
