BWC Board of Directors to Hold Public Forum on Claims Issues
COLUMBUS – The BWC Board of Directors will host another forum, this one targeting BWC’s
claims- management system. The public forum will take place from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday,
April 29. The board will hold the event in the William Green Building’s auditorium, located at 30
W. Spring St., Columbus.
Participants can provide their insights into enhancing BWC’s claims-management system. The discussion
will center on shifting the model from disability management to disability prevention. Goals for
discussion include:
- Determining efficient methods for identifying workers at risk for long-term disability;
- Identifying appropriate incentives for the delivery of occupational health best practice care
sufficient to prevent disability;
- Identifying opportunities for the synthesis of claims-management and medical-management processes
to improve outcomes;
- Providing for measurement of the disability prevention achieved to allow for a continuous improvement
process.
