As Director of Communications, Bill Teets manages all aspects of internal and external communications. The communications department is responsible for employee communication and engagement; media relations; creative services such as the design and development of printed, electronic, and video collateral; executive communication support; customer correspondence; Internet and Intranet sites; and social media strategy.

As director, his focus is on understanding the business objectives of the agency and aligning communications strategies to support those objectives. Teets came to BWC from Nationwide Insurance where he provided communications counsel and services to their 5,000-employee customer services organization, marketing department, safety office, Texas sales region and affinity marketing organization.

Prior to that, he spent more than 12 years as a public sector communicator, including as Communications Director for the Ohio Department of Commerce and Public Relations Director for the Ohio Department of Development. He also served as Press Secretary for two lieutenant governors. He has diverse experience ranging from the development and execution of crisis communications plans for mass casualty situations such as explosions, homicides and workplace incidents, to working with senior executives in announcing major business location and investment decisions.
