Division of Safety & Hygiene - Meeting your training needs

Safety and Hygiene's training center, a continuing education facility specializing in occupational safety and health, provides you with the knowledge, tools and skills you need to prevent occupational injuries and illness. Courses are offered on an open enrollment basis, and tuition is free to employers actively enrolled in Ohio's workers' compensation system. Training materials are available for your use.

Each year, the Ohio Safety Congress & Expo provides a forum for the cutting edge in workplace safety practices, technology, products and services. This event combines workplace safety education and interactive exhibits.

In conjunction with Safety & Hygiene, more than 50 area safety councils promote occupational safety and health awareness in their communities through educational meetings, networking and local support. They inform members about new techniques, products and services.

Designed by the training center, one-hour safety presentations help you make safety presentations to co-workers. These presentation materials are available in two formats and include the training center course manuals on which they are based.

The video library, a lending library of occupational safety and health videotapes, has a collection of more than 500 titles. The only fee for the video library is returning the tape to Safety & Hygiene by insured mail.

A variety of publications can help support your training program. For example, the Safety Leader's Discussion Guide offers a monthly safety topic that can be featured in your organization's safety meetings.
