Each year, thousands of Ohio employers and employees assemble at the Ohio Safety Congress
& Expo — the industry’s leading annual event — to personalize a professional development
plan that fits their unique needs. The event combines world-class educational opportunities

The annual conference is one of the largest gatherings in the United States singularly

Each day of the Ohio Safety Congress featured a general session with keynote speakers.
Tuesday, BWC’s administrator Marsha Ryan shared the future of workers’ compensation in
Ohio while Dr. DeLon Hull, associate director for research and
technology transfer for NIOSH discussed NIOSH’s role in a healthier tomorrow.
Nationally recognized behavior-based safety expert Dr. Scott Geller captivated the
audience with his perspective on people-based safety which has been found to significantly reduce industrial injuries.
The closing day began with Ohio native Bert Calland, a former vice admiral and CIA
deputy director. He shared his life experiences as a Navy SEAL and the detailed training, considered the toughest in the world, to keep these brave
servants safe.
