Protecting older workers: a call to action

Welcome to BWC’s Protecting Older Workers Web site. This site provides employers with information on workplace safety and the workers’ compensation issues an older work force introduces.

Whatever the reasons, whether workers choosing to stay beyond the traditional retirement age or the relative decrease in the number of available younger workers, most employers will need to use, and perhaps accommodate, an older work force in the near future. Our goal is to provide you with recommendations for reducing the risk of workplace injuries and accommodating individuals who may have both work and non-work-related disabilities.

In the column to the right you'll find our safety tips page converted into a downloadable portable document format (PDF). This way you can print the document and share with your work force. We encourage you to incorporate these tips into your workplace safety strategies. We’ve also posted an informative article on protecting older workers.
