Continuing education and BWC program credits

Employer’s can receive credit for Step 6 of our 10-Step Business Plan and
One Claim Program at WCU. To receive credit, attendees must
attend at least three courses from the following list.
- ABCs of the claims process
- Basic principles of workers’ compensation
- Building a safety program on a budget
- Business acquisitions: Workers’ comp considerations
- BWC update
- Claims management: Advanced strategies
- Financial impacts of a claim
- Health and safety for an aging work force
- IC academics
- Rate-making concepts
- Workers’ compensation for public employers
- Workers’ comp law
- Workplace safety update
Safety Council Discount Program credit
By attending WCU, employers participating in the Safety Council Discount Program
can earn a maximum of one meeting credit, no matter the number of individuals in attendance per policy number or the number of courses
attended. Each employer must obtain appropriate certification of attendance (instructions will be provided at the event) and submit it to
their local safety council.
Continuing education
In addition, our training department has submitted WCU course material for continuing education units and continuing legal education.
International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET) general continuing education certificates also will be
available this year for human resources (PHR/SPHR), certified safety professionals (CSP) and accountants/auditors.
