If your doctor prescribes medicine for your work-related injury,
inform your pharmacist that the prescription is for a workers' compensation
claim. Pharmacies can submit bills for prescriptions immediately after your
injury, even before a BWC claim number is assigned.
You will need to tell the pharmacist your Social Security number and injury
date. The pharmacist will submit this information along with bill information to
BWC's Pharmacy Benefits Manager (PBM).
The PBM will inform the pharmacist about your claim status and the amount
BWC will reimburse for the prescription.
