Subrogation is the right of reimbursement
for benefits paid arising out of an accident
for which a third party is responsible to make payments.
ORC 4123.93 et.sep. allows BWC the right of reimbursement
from a third party, for the cost of benefits paid, or to be
paid, to or on behalf of the injured worker.
The third party can be an individual, a corporation, an insurance
company, a public or private entity, i.e. political subdivision, or
public or private program that is or may be liable to make payments
to a person.
