Within 28 days from the date your claim was reported, BWC will determine whether or not you have a valid claim. If you or your employer disagree with the decision, you may file an appeal with the Industrial Commission (IC) within 14 days of BWC’s decision.

If your claim is appealed, you will not receive a compensation payment until the appeal is waived or a decision supporting your claim is handed down by the IC Hearing Officer.
