You will receive a letter from BWC which will include your BWC
identification card. The identification card contains your claim
number, the name of your claims service specialist (CSS), his/her
phone number and your managed care organization's (MCO's) name
and phone number. The claim number is specific to your accident date and
acts as the tracking number for the life of your claim.
Your employer and your treating physician
will receive a letter notifying them of
your claim number. Always have your
identification card with your claim number on it to use anytime
you contact BWC, your MCO or doctor.
If you have not received your letter from BWC within two weeks
of your injury, call your local BWC customer service office to
verify that your claim was filed.
