Every claim goes through a progressive cycle, from the date
the claim is reported to the date the claim is closed, this
is called the “life cycle of a claim.”
BWC has identified the following phases to the life cycle:
Notification phase - a new injury is reported to BWC;
Initial Decision phase - gather information to determine if claim is allowed;
Outcome Management - determine extent of injury or disability;
Claim Outcomes - recognize any issues and handle claim to completion.
