What steps to take if you are injured at work?

There are four things you should do immediately after a work place injury:

1. Seek medical attention.
2. Tell your employer about your injury and ask if you need to fill out an internal accident report.
3. Tell your doctor or emergency room the name of your managed care organization (MCO) at the time of service. *He or she will need this information to file your claim.
4. Ask your doctor or emergency room to file the claim with your MCO. Your doctor must file the claim with your MCO or BWC within 24 hours.
