OhioBWC - Basics: 30 day return-to-work assessments
30-day return-to-work assessments
The 30-day return-to-work assessment focuses on claims in which the injured worker has not returned to work 30 days after
the optimal return-to-work date. This date has been determined as a benchmark date for return to work, based on the recovery
periods of other injured workers with the same diagnosis and occupation. BWC’s rehabilitation staff researches the issues
that may be delaying return to work and works with the managed care organization to develop a course of action.
