Working with rehabilitation

Employers who want to reduce workers' comp costs should involve themselves in the rehab efforts of their injured employees.

• Rehab programs help injured workers return to work.
• Rehab programs are voluntary for the injured worker.
• Rehab programs are available at no additional cost to the employer (except self-insuring employers who've opted out of the program).

A portion of employer premiums or assessments paid to the Ohio State Insurance Fund is set aside as the surplus fund to cover rehab expenses.
