The 15K Program allows an employer to pay up to the first $15,000 in medical expenses
for employees who suffer work-related injuries that result in seven
or fewer lost days from work.
Although the employer does not receive a premium discount for participating in
the program, any payments an employer makes directly to medical providers are
not included in the employers experience. Costs that are not included in the
experience have no impact on the employers workers compensation premium
rates.
Eligibility and enrollment
State-fund employers who pay premiums and whose coverage is active may
participate in this program. Employers can enroll by calling 1-800-OHIOBWC
and pressing 2. The employer will receive written confirmation of enrollment
in the program.
